Why We Built This Site
Iowa provides several public record channels, but each custodian answers a different question. The Winnebago County Sheriff keeps local incident, booking, custody, and some warrant information. The Clerk of District Court maintains filed charges, docket events, and final dispositions. DCI operates the fingerprint-supported statewide repository, while Iowa corrections and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry publish separate status information. We bring the verified contacts, costs, search fields, and request steps for those offices into one local reference.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of an Iowa court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot:
- Retrieve an official record or conduct an official check
- Submit a request, expungement application, or court filing for a visitor
- Certify a docket, criminal history, agency report, or custody record
- Give legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or eligibility for relief
- Promise that an agency has not changed an address, fee, hour, or procedure
Only the record custodian, such as the sheriff, court clerk, or DCI, can issue an official copy. The document must come from that office.
